hey my 318 is is an automatic there is a button beside the shifter. it has an s, e, and m setting on it does anybody know what these settings are as i have no owners manual for the car. thanks.
the S is for sports and the E economy. what this means is that when you shift it to the S position it puts the car into a sports mode and make it run faster and the suspension tighter. the normal driving position should be the E. Remember that when you engage the sport the fuel consumption goes up. Hope ve been of help to you.
Sport mode uses more fuel. It delays shift points up about 1000rpm and also down shifts earlier making it feel and sound sportier. It does not make the suspension tighter though.
M or the snow flake(winter mode) in "D" shifts a little different and when 2,3 or 4 in will stay in that gear and won't up/downshift.
If you search it has been discussed in these forums before.
