front brakes rattling

Postby andybol on Mon Mar 22, 2010 7:10 pm

hi,i changed my brake pads on the front of the car,but after a couple of months i can now hear a rattling noise whenever i drive over and small bump in the road.I have read and been told that this could be the anti rattle clip so i took it out and bent it a little so it pulls on the pads a bit more, but the rattle is still there.Any ideas?? thank you.

You sure the rattle is from the brakes?
Your talking about a 10+ year old car, there is numerous things in the bottom of the engine bay that can come loose from ties, clips and holders. Ask a friend to drive the car "slowly" over a rough ground and you walk along side it listening. Failing that, jack up the car and use axle stands!!! Then give everything under the car a small shake!
