hi people i have recently baught a m REG e36, on the boot it has got 318i, she is an import from south africa with 32,000 miles on the british clocks and 15,000 kms on the african clocks, full service history and all genuine. i have have my mechanic look at it and he used to work for BMW and even he said it was a lovley car but he said that there was something odd about the engine ....

this is my question to you guys!!lol

the mechanic said that it has a newer version of the engine in her to what the british ones have, he reckons that it is a double cam and a 16 v instead of the single cam and 8v. i have been doing some googling and discoverd that it is the original engin as the african engines were placed in that year of car befor the british ones had.

does this make any sence to you lot i will try and get some pictures up soon??

thanks owen
