at the moment i have a 7 button OBC and was wondering if it is possible to put an 18 button OBC.if it is possible how much work is it.

was wondering if it is a plug and play thing???

my car is a 318i e36 m reg but has the 16v twin cam engine

I recall there's a DIY for that on Pelican parts forum somewhere. Fortunately, my car came with the 18-button OBC. So, I didn't need to do it. I don't know for sure if it's a complicated task or something easy. May be someone else can help you better

hmmm yeah. its only because i would like to have a "range" button. because my citroen c2 at the momment has it and its handy sometimes.

the bmw is my sunday best car.

I installed a ScanGuage tool in my 1996 328is that does everything an OBC does and more. I find it much easier to use and it is a direct plug and play. Also has the benefits of being a scan tool for reading OBD codes. Cost about $200 shipped.
