Hi guys, I've joined up to try and help a friend.... basicaly his 325 coupe dropped a valve and smashed the engine to bits, so he bought another car cheep to swap the engine in to the coupe. Now we know the engine was working fine as he drove it about for a bit to make sure!! but now we have put the non vanos engine in to the coupe shell it won't go!!
It turnes over fine, but wont start.... occasionly it will pop through the exhaust, so it's getting fuel & spark, but other than the back fire there are no signs of life!! Any sujestions guys?? we have tried both the coupe & saloon ecu's and have the same result with both! does this mean swaping the engine harnace to the saloon one, or is there a simple reason for this?
All loom connectors apear to be in the correct place (as my mate ripped out the old engine in a temper & didn't mark the plugs) there are 3 connectors that will fit on 3 different sensors.... 2 on the block by cylinders No 1 & 2 and on the block by the aulternator......
Any help greatfuly recieved,
Jono
