My OBC button "Temperature" has no spring to it anymore. I have to press on it for several seconds to get the display up. Any way to repair, remove clean, or replace this button? Would rather not have to replace the entire unit.
Just a matter of cleaning the 10+ years of crumbs and dust behind the buttons. The button actually works just not very well so its not very likely that anything is broken. I'm not certain if the buttons just pop out or if you have to remove the O.B.C. Unit altogether though
The ONLY Hellrot Red 323 in the world, emmm except for the other few thousand dotted around the world.
LED's on Multi infomation display (98_E36 323i A/T) breaking information and clock dissappearing sometimes.Does it need to be serviced or replaced by a new one.
If you can see the text on the display, but it's dimmed, you can fix it by replacing the light bulbs. check Fix OBC lights

Hi there.Just wanted to know the fuel consuption on an E36 323i A/T,intown driving and on high way.For 11.5l ,I do 100km and a litre costs R8.50.Is it heavy on gas or what. Please advise.
Hi! I have had a 11 buttons OBC and i installed the 18 buttons OBC . It shows me wrong details about the consumption. If my consumption meter shows 10 litre / hour, the OBC shows 15 litre / hour. If the meter shows 16 litre/ hour, the OBC shows 30 litre / hour. But 0litre/ hour is 0 on both, on consumption meter and on the OBC too. Can you tell me why is that? I guy tells me that it calibrate himself and it takes 150 km to calibrate himself...but it didn't calibrate himself. The details: temperature, speed are correct. I guy from ENG told me that i have to fill up my tank totally, and after i have to run the tank down and after them refill it, and after i have to do on my OBC test 20.:"Note: #20 The factor is used to correct the OBC Avg Fuel Consumption figure to reality. If your OBC is off a bit, fill it UP totally and then run the tank down and refill. Then calculate your Actual MPG. Now enter test #20 get the old Correction Factor. NEW CF = OLD CF *(Actual MPG/OBC MPG)" Is that thing with the calibration right? Or can you help mee? It is very important for me beacsuse this problem is for months, and i get angry about it:P:) Thank You David ( Sorry for my bad english) (e-mail adress: migid1992@windowslive.com)
@ migid: that formula makes sense. Need to recalibrate mine too. But don't use the fuel consumption meter. Rather use the brim to brim method (drive a full tank empty and calculate the fuel consumption via the milage covered - and remember to reset the obc at the first fill).
