Radio Display problem

Hello...I recently purchased a 98 323ci. The radio wasnt working when i bought it. I got it working by simply entering the code. However, all I get is a solid lit multi-pixel display. I am not able to see what stations I'm listening to or see what other functions Im doing. Is there a reset or some kind of fix for this problem?
