hi i'm new here. here is my prob. my car just failed the NCT (MOT) with a list bigger than war and peace. going to cost a bit so i will do what i can myself. one of the faults is the ABS light stays on. now they dont care why its on just why it wont go out, so if i wire it into the oil light for now it will come on when you start like it should then go out with the oil light like it should. can this be done and how? it has to be done quick and it is going to cost to get ball joints done fuel pipes replaced ect, ect. thanks for any help you might have
It will involve you cutting already existing solders and resoldering extra wire. Personally i wouldnt do it, i would just find the fault for the ABS light, could be a sensor that was'nt replaced when the pads were last replaced or could be a worn pad or disc. Iv owned 10-15 cars in the last 6 years and only 3 or 4 of them ever had an NCT. When the guards pull over you just say you have it booked in, if they ask you to present proof in the next 10days, you jump online that night and apply for the test. 4/5 days later youl have your proof, ring up NCT centre and cancel it. Simple as!!!
