removing front door handles?? help please?

help?... how do you remove the front external door handles? i have a 91 320i and i cant figure out how they are removed i even have new assemb ready, unless its easyer to change just the locks??? and help is appreciated,

I hope you're patient. They are hard to get off... even harder on the coupe. There's a few sites around with information on how to do it.

This kind of made me chuckle. I can't get my handles to stay on. If that 91 is an E36, then you just need to fiddle with it a little - there's no screws or anything. If you've ever worked on a computer, the handles on the car come off the same way most computer cases open - they slide.

It is a E36... we're on an E36 forum after all.
dangerous_dave was asking about the external door handles... it's a lot different to the internal ones in the video clips. But it is nice to see someone finding answers on Tony's blog.

Hi all, it's my first post so give and take a bit, i have a e36 m3 3.0l coupe 1995.
I changed my external door handle on the drivers side 2weeks ago theres not much to it but what a hassle, the only advice i can give is take your window out or you will not get the handle out, the removing of the handle is pretty basic you undo what you see attached to the handle. Be careful with the window because any pressure and it will break. Hope this helps a little...

iT IS A PAIN IN THE a$$. HAVE TO REMOVE THE WINDOW THAEN UNDO EVERYTHING THAT CONNECTS.

I can't get my handles to break on. If that is an E36, again you just charge to dabble with it a little - there's no screws or anything.
