I wrote about the BMW E36 Harmon Kardon Audio System and it seems there is a lot of confusion about the number and locations of the speakers in that system. Today, I found a photo that will show the exact locations of the 10-speakers in that audio system. Take a look:
Also, pay attention to the location of the amplifier in the trunk.
After I saw this picture, I think there are two speakers in the footwell of the BMW E36, but I’m not sure if they’re working in my car or not. I know that my BMW E30 used to have 2 speakers in the footwell (left and right) and 2 speakers in the back. In the BMW E36, I just thought that the speakers inside the doors are just a replacement for the front speakers in the BMW E30. I should’ve checked these speakers in the footwell to verify their existence when I saw them, but it’s never too late. I’ve checked them today and they’re working fine. It’s cool to discover that there are actually 6 speakers inside the non HK systems.

The BMW E36 digital climate control unit has a feature that allows different sensor values to be displayed on the control panel. The display mode is called up by pressing the "AUTO" and "REAR DEFOGGER" buttons simultaneously. 12 displays are available and you can toggle through them by pressing the fan rocker switch.

The sensor display functions are exited by pressing "RECIRC" and "AUTO" buttons simultaneously and also by turning the ignition off. The decimal point is not shown therefore 66.5% would show as 665 All temp displays are in degrees centigrade. Negative values are indicated with minus sign
Unfortunately, I have the rotary climate control unit (analog unit), so I can’t test them. If anyone can shoot a video for these tests, it would be great.

I wrote before about the BMW Auto Folding Mirrors, but I couldn’t find a video for these mirrors in action. Today, I’ve found a video to show you exactly how they’re supposed to work in your BMW E36. Please notice how these mirrors are being operated by a one-touch button, but personally, I prefer connecting them with the car’s switch so they will unfold when you turn your engine on and automatically fold when you switch your engine off. This way, it would be better at least in my opinion.
Take a look, I hope you like it.

I’ve just found out that there is a secret compartment inside our BMW E36 cars. This secret compartment is hidden inside the rear seat armrest and it’s actually a cup holder for the passengers in the rear seat. I’m not sure if this is only for the 4-door BMW E36 cars but I think so, because as far as I know, there’s no rear armrest in the BMW E36 coupe. I’m not 100% sure though. Anyone got these cute cupholders? Take a look at their photos … They are awesome! don’t you think?

I’m not sure if I should feel happy for this or not, but this blog has been attacked twice recently. I’m feeling happy because it means that the blog is getting more and more attention and that’s why the hackers are giving it their attention. On the other hand, I’m feeling pissed off because I thought that it’s secure enough, but it turned out that I was WRONG. Now, Before everyone starts feeling worried about this, I want to assure you that the attacks were made just to get backlinks from this website to other websites (this is called Backlink Juice) which aims to enhance their websites ranking. Luckily I’m here in defense and I won’t allow this to continue.
Today, I’ve been busy making many changes to enhance the blog security and protect it, hopefully, from any future attacks. But, I have a favor to ask. I’ve tested everything I could to make sure that my changes didn’t affect the normal work of the blog, but I’m not 100% sure that I didn’t mess something up, so about that favor … I just need your help in reporting any problems that you may notice or anything weird that you believe it started to happen recently.
thank you guys for being loyal readers to this blog and I hope I will be able to boost my performance in the next few days to provide you with new great posts.
